Loving Farewell to RadComp Radiorepository’s Data Manager, Bill Straube

William (Bill) Straube, Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis and RadComp’s Data Manager for over ten years passed away on June 28, 2026. Along with Dr. Walter Bosch, Bill Straube was the cornerstone of the RadComp Study’s Radiorepository.

For 43 years, Bill worked at Washington University in St. Louis, most recently as a medical physicist and Data Quality Assurance Manager in the Advanced Technology QA Center (ATC) and as Chief of the Hyperthermia Physics Service.

Bill’s contributions to the RadComp Study have helped to move the study and the science forward. He worked closely with the Coordinating Center and each of the enrolling sites to ensure high-quality data were collected and performed quality assurance, helped troubleshoot submission errors, and addressed queries.

Bill’s knowledge, dedication and responsiveness made him a wonderful collaborator. He was patient and generous with his time. His contributions to the study were integral to the success of study and will continue to inform the ongoing research. He will be greatly missed.
